Wraith
Wraith is a Deadlock marksman who builds homing cards from her gunfire, teleports with Project Mind and lifts and throws a hero with her Telekinesis ultimate. She won 54.58% of high-rank matches from Oct 15 to 25, 2026, second of 44 heroes.
Wraith is a Deadlock marksman who melts isolated targets: her rapid-fire gun summons homing cards (Card Trick), she teleports in and out with Project Mind, and her Telekinesis ultimate lifts a hero, silences and disarms them, then throws them. She is one of the original heroes, in the game before Valve's Aug 23, 2024 reveal (PCGamesN counted 22 heroes before Jan 17, 2025), and one of the 44 Heroes in the invite-only playtest on Oct 26, 2026. At high rank she is among the strongest: deadlock-api measured a 54.58% win rate at Phantom 1 and above from Oct 15 to 25, 2026, second of 44.

Card Trick turns weapon damage into cards: each bullet hit builds 4 resource (6 on a crit, 35% as much from non-heroes) and 100 makes a card, with 2 charges, per the game files. A card flies homing at the target or crosshair for 45 damage (spirit scaling 0.55) in 4m, with a random suit: Spades deal 60% more damage, Diamonds take 7% bullet and spirit resist for 5s, Hearts heal her 60, Clubs slow 24% for 3s, and Jokers turn up too. Since Valve's Mar 21, 2026 patch cards come from a two-deck stack, which lowers the luck involved. T1 adds 2 charges, T2 adds 40 damage and 0.4 scaling, and T3 improves the suits and raises the Joker chance.
Project Mind teleports her to a spot within 25m. T1 adds 15m, T2 gives a 300 barrier (spirit scaling 1.7) for 5s on arrival, and T3 cuts 32s. It is both her way in and, as the game's own description says, how she teleports away before anyone can retaliate.
Full Auto adds 20% fire rate and 2 spirit damage per bullet (spirit scaling 0.045, raised from 0.03 on Sep 16, 2026) for 5s. T1 cuts 20s, T2 adds 10% fire rate and 3s, and T3 gives unlimited ammo, more scaling and finishes a reload in progress.
Telekinesis lifts an enemy hero within 10m, silencing and disarming them for 2.25s, then throws them up to 13m for 100 damage (spirit scaling 1.0) and a 32% slow, per the game files. T1 adds 100 damage, T2 cuts 45s and T3 adds 1.5s to the debuff and 6m of throw and cast range. Valve's last Steam note on it, the Mar 21, 2026 patch, set its cooldown at 130s; the game files on Oct 26, 2026 show 150s, a change not in Valve's saved Steam posts.
How to play
Wraith is a lane bully who pushes. Mobalytics' Wraith guide lists point-and-click crowd control, high damage and burst from Card Trick, and strong pushing among her strengths; her 52-round magazine in the game files lets her keep shooting while she builds cards. Hit the enemy laner with bullets, then throw the cards when both charges are up.
She duels well and dies to ganks. The game's text sums up her play as isolating targets one on one, and Mobalytics names her weaknesses as an easily countered ultimate, weakness when behind, and vulnerability to ganks. Keep Project Mind ready as an escape rather than spending it to engage when the enemy's position is unclear.
Split pushing is her macro. With her push speed she can take a lane alone and pull enemies toward her, then teleport out. On how that fits a game plan, see Macro and Rotations and Objectives.
Telekinesis picks off one hero. Lift the enemy carry, throw them toward your team, and the 2.25s silence and disarm leaves them unable to answer. Mobalytics also names Wraith among the strong heroes for the Mid-Boss in its Mid-Boss guide (Aug 8, 2026); more on Mid-Boss and Rejuvenator.
Builds
Wraith's players mix gun and spirit items. Deadlock-api's measured item stats for her matches from Oct 15 to 25, 2026 show the most bought:
| Phase | Most bought items (share of Wraith's matches) |
|---|---|
| First 10 minutes | Quicksilver Reload 77%, Monster Rounds 73%, Rapid Rounds 69% |
| 10 to 25 minutes | Surge of Power 69%, Tesla Bullets 56%, Swift Striker 45%, Ricochet 43% |
| After 25 minutes | Mercurial Magnum 37%, Spiritual Overflow 35%, Boundless Spirit 27% |
Source: deadlock-api (measured), item stats for Wraith, Oct 15 to 25, 2026.
Three of those items won more than they lost: Ricochet bought in the middle game won 56%, and Spiritual Overflow and Boundless Spirit bought late each won 57%, deadlock-api measured. Monster Rounds, Rapid Rounds, Tesla Bullets, Swift Striker, Ricochet and Spiritual Overflow are Weapon Items; Quicksilver Reload, Surge of Power, Mercurial Magnum and Boundless Spirit are Spirit Items.
Dexerto's Wraith build (Mar 9, 2026) goes Monster Rounds, Rapid Rounds, Extra Spirit, Mystic Burst and Quicksilver Reload early; Dispel Magic, Leech, Mercurial Magnum, Capacitor and Surge of Power in the middle; Juggernaut, Unstoppable, Divine Barrier, Siphon Bullets and Boundless Spirit late, several of them Vitality Items. Its ability order: Card Trick to 2 AP, Project Mind to 5 AP, then Full Auto and Telekinesis. More on Items and Shop and Builds and Itemization.
Counters and matchups
Disarms and fire-rate cuts counter her gun. Mobalytics names Disarming Hex, Juggernaut, Hunter's Aura and Suppressor, and advises fighting her right after she spends her cards (they float over her head), answering her split pushes, and running for cover when she casts Telekinesis from range. Mobalytics' Street Brawl guide (Aug 27, 2026) adds Slowing Hex against her. More on Counter Items.
Her measured matchups are good against most heroes. Deadlock-api's counter stats (Oct 15 to 25, 2026) show her worst as Graves (43.9%), Paige (45.2%) and Rat King (46.2%), who beat almost everyone that week, and her best as Shiv (56.7%), Pocket (56.6%) and Mirage (55.9%). The Doorman's Call Bell is useful against her, says Mobalytics' Doorman guide, because of its accuracy debuff.
Tier lists and win rate
Wraith is one of the most played heroes and stronger the higher the rank. She appeared in 32.96% of normal-mode matches and won 50.81%, 15th of 44, but at Phantom 1 and above she was in 50.01% of matches and won 54.58%, second only to Baba, as deadlock-api measured over Oct 15 to 25, 2026. Outlets rate her lower: A tier on Dexerto's Oct 9, 2026 list, C on Mobalytics' expert list (RinaVX, Oct 22, 2026). See Hero Tier List.

Lore
Wraith is the cornerstone of New York's gambling scene, kept above the law by bribes, shakedowns and blackmail, according to the game's hero text as deadlock-api republishes it; her cards and her gun, The Rake, fit the role. More on Lore and Setting.

HeroesDeadlock has 44 playable heroes on Oct 26, 2026: 22 from the 2024 playtest, four from Hero Labs in Jan 2025, and three sets of six added by player vote in Aug 2025, Jan to Feb 2026 and Oct 2026. Nurse Harrow, on Oct 20, 2026, is the newest. -
Macro and RotationsDeadlock's mid game is won by turning every won fight into an objective, keeping your lanes pushed before you rotate, farming camps between waves, and timing the shared objectives: the Unstable Rift about every 7 minutes, the Soul Urn at 10 minutes and every 5 after, and the Mid-Boss, which deadlock-api's Oct 2026 data shows first falling at about 28 minutes.
-
ObjectivesYou win a Deadlock match by destroying the enemy Patron in its base. To reach it, a team breaks a lane's Guardian, Walker and pair of Base Guardians, then two Shrines, and each enemy Walker it kills unlocks a Flex Slot for every player. -
Mid-Boss and RejuvenatorDeadlock's Mid-Boss sits in the Pit at the center of the map from the first second of a match, with 13,000 base health; the team that kills it gets 3,000 souls, 2 permanent buffs each and a Rejuvenator crystal whose buff lasts 3 minutes, and it respawns 7 minutes later.
