Dynamo
Dynamo is a Deadlock spirit hero and team fight initiator who knocks enemies up with Kinetic Pulse, teleports with Quantum Entanglement, heals his team with Rejuvenating Aurora and pulls the enemy team together with Singularity. He is one of the original heroes of the playtest.
Dynamo is a Deadlock spirit hero who "locks down the enemy team", as the game's own hero card says: Kinetic Pulse knocks enemies into the air, Rejuvenating Aurora heals him and his allies, and his ultimate, Singularity, pulls every nearby enemy into a stun. He is one of the original heroes, in the invite-only playtest before Valve announced Deadlock on Aug 23, 2024 (PCGamesN counts him among the first 22), and one of 44 Heroes on Oct 26, 2026. In the game's words, "Few things can warp a team fight more than a well-coordinated use of Singularity" (game files on deadlock-api).

Kinetic Pulse is his wave clear and his opener. Valve's Mar 6, 2026 rework raised its damage from 90 to 115 but shortened it from 20 m to 16 m. The game files list T1 a second charge, T2 -15% bullet resist and -24% move speed for 4s on hit, and T3 +135 damage and +20 m range.
Quantum Entanglement is his escape and his team's. He vanishes, reappears up to 10 m away and gets a stamina back, and the alt-cast takes allies along. Its T1 is +6 m range, T2 -6s cooldown, and T3 halves non-ultimate debuffs and refills one charge of charged abilities (game files). It no longer reloads his gun, since Mar 6, 2026.
Rejuvenating Aurora is his sustain. He can dash, jump and melee without breaking the channel; Valve's Jun 30, 2026 update raised the healing from 25 to 30 per second. Its T1 gives the aura +4 m/s, T2 -20s cooldown and +1s, and T3 lets him move and cast freely and adds 2.5% of max health healed per second (game files).
Singularity is the reason to pick him. Everyone within 7 m is pulled in and stunned for the channel, so a good one wins a team fight. Its T1 is +2 m radius, T2 +0.75s channel, and T3 adds 6% of each target's max health as damage per second (game files). Its 250s cooldown is Valve's Jul 28, 2026 figure, down from 265s.
How to play
Dynamo is played as a frontline initiator who waits for the right Singularity. Mobalytics' Dynamo guide lists his strengths as an ultimate made for engaging, area healing, a versatile kit and great wave clear, and his weaknesses as a weak early game, vulnerability to crowd control and little mobility.
In lane, clear waves with Kinetic Pulse and keep Rejuvenating Aurora for trades. Mobalytics' build calls early High-Velocity Rounds and Opening Rounds "extremely powerful" on him (Mobalytics, Oct 13, 2026).
In fights, look for enemies grouped around an objective. Mobalytics names him among the strong heroes at the Mid-Boss, thanks to Singularity (Mobalytics, Aug 8, 2026; see Mid-Boss and Rejuvenator).
Builds
Outlets build Dynamo for spirit damage and short cooldowns. Mobalytics' Hydration build (updated Oct 13, 2026) plays him "as a Spirit Nuker and Frontliner that has access to very strong lockdown and teamwide utility" (Mobalytics):
| Phase | Items |
|---|---|
| Early | High-Velocity Rounds into Opening Rounds, Headshot Booster, Mystic Burst, Battle Vest, Headhunter, Rapid Recharge, Spirit Resilience, Mystic Expansion imbued on Singularity |
| Mid | Tankbuster, Heroic Aura, Greater Expansion, Mystic Reverb, Witchmail |
| Late | Bullet Resilience and Juggernaut against gun heroes, Healing Tempo, Colossus, Refresher, Transcendent Cooldown |
| When behind | Warp Stone ("your biggest purchase that allows you to engage in any fight") |

Games with Refresher win more often. deadlock-api measured Mystic Expansion in 87% of Dynamo games, Extra Charge in 83% and Superior Cooldown in 72%, while Refresher, bought in 45%, won 55.7% of those games (Oct 15 to 26, 2026): a second Singularity. The items are in Spirit Items, Vitality Items and Weapon Items; the shop in Items and Shop.
Counters and matchups
Spreading out counters Dynamo. Mobalytics' guide says to avoid bunching up with allies so Singularity catches fewer heroes, and to learn Kinetic Pulse's range, which "goes further than you think". PC Gamer's beginner tips give the same advice against area stuns. Mobalytics' Street Brawl guide suggests Cursed Relic against him (Mobalytics, Aug 27, 2026); more in Counter Items.
Dynamo himself counters some heroes. Mobalytics' expert calls Singularity the best answer to Rem's Tag Along (Mobalytics, Oct 22, 2026), and Mobalytics lists Kinetic Pulse among the displacement that punishes Celeste (Mobalytics).
His measured matchups favor him. deadlock-api's matchup measurement (Oct 15 to 26, 2026) has Dynamo winning 45.8% against Graves, 45.9% against Rat King, 46.3% against Victor, 46.4% against Seven and 46.7% against Paige, and 58.0% against Mirage, 57.9% against Pocket, 57.1% against Sinclair and Silver, and 56.9% against Viscous.

Lore
Professor Dynamo was a scientist who investigated a rift in space and time in Central Park and was "atomized and reduced to a tiny dying star", the game's own hero text says (deadlock-api); his spirit lives on as a tenured professor at Columbia College. Mobalytics names his voice actor as John Patrick Lowrie. More in Lore and Setting.
