Deadlock public release: Dec 2027Not announced: our best guess from Valve's Sep 29, 2026 development note and press estimates.
Best guessValve gives no date: its Steam page says "To be announced" and access is limited to friend invites. Its Sep 29, 2026 City Never Sleeps post lists work still to do before full release (progression, hero and Hideout customization, the Mid-Boss, Guardians and Walkers, hero remodels), its big updates have come about eight months apart, and Beebom's Oct 1, 2026 estimate is "late 2027 or early 2028", so we count to the end of 2027. Silver

Silver is a Deadlock werewolf bounty hunter who catches heroes with Entangling Bola, kicks them with Boot Kick, bursts them with Slam Fire and transforms with her Lycan Curse ultimate. Valve added her on Feb 2, 2026, the third hero of the Old Gods, New Blood update.

Silver is a Deadlock brawler and bounty hunter who catches a hero with Entangling Bola, closes in with Boot Kick, bursts them with Slam Fire and, when her bloodlust fills, turns into a werewolf with the Lycan Curse, as Valve's reveal post of Feb 2, 2026 describes her. She joined Deadlock that day as the third of six heroes released by player vote in the Old Gods New Blood Update, after Rem and Graves (Valve, Feb 12, 2026). Valve called her New York's "misanthrope lycanthrope". The whole roster is on Heroes, and the vote is explained on Hero Voting.

2 Boot Kick A 10.6 m leaping kick at a hero or objective that marks the target 21 s

4 Lycan Curse Bloodlust passive; transforms her into a werewolf for 15 s 60 s

Source: the game files as of Oct 26, 2026.

Slam Fire is her burst. It reloads her rifle at once, and her next 3 shots get 300% more fire rate and bonus damage equal to 2.5% of the target's current health, at the cost of 30% accuracy, per the game files. Since Jul 28, 2026 it also deals 100% bonus weapon damage to troopers and neutrals, which speeds up her farming. T1 adds 15% weapon damage, T2 cuts 10 s of cooldown, and T3 adds 7% current health damage if all three shots hit.

Boot Kick is her gap closer. She leaps up to 10.6 m into a hero or objective, dealing 25 bonus damage (spirit scaling 2.0) and marking the target for 3 seconds; since Sep 16, 2026 it can target only heroes and objectives. T1 takes 6 s off the cooldown, T2 restores 2 stamina on a hero hit, and T3 adds 80 damage and makes kicked enemies deal 35% less damage for 5 seconds.

Entangling Bola is her catch. It hits heroes only, dealing 40 damage (spirit scaling 1.6), slowing 16% and blocking movement abilities and stamina for 1.5 seconds; it also raises the target's gravity and interrupts flying abilities, per the game files and Valve's Sep 16, 2026 notes. T1 adds 20% slow, T2 cuts 8 s of cooldown, and T3 adds 0.75 s and bounces to 2 more targets within 15 m.

Lycan Curse is her ultimate and a passive. Damage builds bloodlust, faster at low health, and full bloodlust casts the curse on its own. Transformed for 15 seconds, she gains 125 maximum health (+15 per boon), 1.5 m/s of speed and up to 15 stacks of fire rate from hero hits (60% in total, spirit scaling 0.45), and her abilities change to werewolf ones that Valve's notes name Mauling Leap, Tail Whack and Go For The Throat (game files; Valve, Mar 6, 2026). T1 adds 15% bullet and spirit resist, T2 adds 4 m/s and 200 health, and T3 makes hero kills refresh her abilities and the duration.

How to play

Silver is a close-range fighter with two forms. Mobalytics' Silver guide lists her strengths as skill-expressive combos in both forms, high burst and recovery, and carrying on-hit items such as Toxic Bullets and Inhibitor well, and her weaknesses as high execution demands, slow jungling and a weak lane. The Laning Guide covers how to last-hit safely.

Her combo follows Valve's description: Bola first so the target cannot dash away, Boot Kick to close the distance, then Slam Fire at point-blank range. When the Lycan Curse triggers, either by her choice or automatically from bloodlust, she has 15 seconds of extra health and fire rate, and a kill with the T3 upgrade resets her abilities and the timer.

Her power spike is the upgraded Slam Fire. Dexerto's Silver build (Mar 4, 2026) takes Slam Fire first and puts 5 AP into it early; see Ability Points and Leveling.

Builds

Silver players build mostly Weapon Items with lifesteal from Vitality Items. What they bought between Oct 15 and Oct 25, 2026, as deadlock-api measured it:

Phase Most bought
Lane Melee Lifesteal (86%), Restorative Shot (72%), Close Quarters (70%), Stalker (66%)
Mid game Hunter's Aura (59%), Lifestrike (53%), Weighted Shots (50%)
Late game Berserker (31%), Frenzy (23%, won 55% of its games), Unstoppable (21%)

Source: deadlock-api, measured item stats for Silver, Oct 15 to Oct 25, 2026.

Dexerto's build (Mar 4, 2026) is similar: Restorative Shot, Battle Vest, Melee Lifesteal, Close Quarters and Express Shot early; Hunter's Aura, Lifestrike, Spirit Resilience, Unstoppable and Lucky Shot in the middle; Frenzy, Colossus, Spellbreaker, Weighted Shots and Juggernaut late. Item tiers and prices are on Items and Shop and Spirit Items; Builds and Itemization explains how to choose.

Counters and matchups

Range and denial are the usual answers to Silver. Mobalytics advises denying and harassing her in lane, kiting her short range, dodging Boot Kick or the Bola with Warp Stone, and using Cursed Relic on her while she is still in human form. Mobalytics' Street Brawl guide (Aug 27, 2026) names Disarming Hex as the item against her; see Counter Items.

Measured matchups are hard for her. Between Oct 15 and Oct 25, 2026, deadlock-api measured her lowest win rates against Graves (36.4%), Paige (40.0%) and Rat King (40.3%), and her highest against Sinclair (51.7%), Mina (51.2%) and Pocket (51.2%).

Lore

Silver is Lilah Silver, a bounty hunter who drinks and smokes too much but is good at her job, helped by being a werewolf, according to her biography in the game files. In Valve's reveal she plans to summon a god, and the Lycan Curse "comes calling whether she likes it or not". The wider setting is on Lore and Setting.
